Will Auto Insurance Pay For Hospital Care If There Was No Proof Of An Accident?

Author: Okay say you got in an accident and it was someone else’s fault, but at the time there was no damage to the car or to you. So you let it go, didn’t call the police or file a report. But later that day you get pain in your neck and go to the ER and get a bunch of test done for $2,500. Is there any way the Auto insurance company will pay for this even though there was no report and somone else was at fault?

Nope. No record to verify anything. – Your “word” means nothing when it comes to getting money from an insurance company.
If this really did happen, maybe you got the name of the driver that hit you? – I believe you CAN file a belated report, but may be difficult to track down the offender w/o a name. – And then, it’s your word against there’s…If there are any traffic cameras nearby, you may be able to get footage of the accident to prove your case.
If still in doubt, call your local police dept. and ask them the protocol to this situation. – It probably happens more frequently than you’d think…Good luck!
Nope – Because it would be turned over to the insurance company of the person that hit you. With no police report showing they were at fault, you are on your own.
Moral: Always get a police report because you never know what will show up later in damage to your person or hidden damage to your vehicle.
