Is there a way to buy stock without using a broker?

If I know exactly what I want to buy, why do I need a broker? I would like to avoid fees this way. I also think it would be easier if I just placed these transactions myself. Is there any way I can just buy and sell stock without a broker or online broker?

THANKS!!

Is there one place to find out if any mutual fund is open to new investors?

In searching for mutual funds to invest in, I often get well into research in a certain fund, only to find out that it is closed to new investors. Is there one website or place to screen mutual funds based on whether they are open to new investors?

Is there any advantage to getting distributions or dividends on my mutual fund?

This is a follow up to a previous question I asked recently. I now understand that when a mutual fund posts a dividend or distribution, the NAV price goes down by the equal amount. So my question is: Should I get excited about a dividend? or is it totally useless, and the value of my investment is unchanged. Is there any type of dividend that is beneficial?

Is there an on-line stock broker in canada that charges less than $29/trade without a minimum balance?

I deal with TD Waterhouse and they tell me that there is no other brokerage in Canada that will do cheap trades without a $100 000 minimum household balance or some ridiculous amount of trades per month. Is this true? I pay $29 per trade up to a maximum amount of shares. This gets really expensive especially with low priced stocks.

Is there an online stock broker with low minimum balance that allows trades on the Australian Market?

Currently use E*Trade with the E*Trade Global account. This account does not include the Australian market and unfortunately that is a market I want to invest in. Otherwise I like E*Trade very much.

Are there any legitimate work from home business on the net?

Hello everyone, I’m trying to find some legitimate work from home business that is completely 100% free to join and become a member(No Credit Card Required).
But if there is a work from home business that requires some kind of pay to join or become a member I wouldn’t mind as long it’s legit and it pays well. Please answer only if either you have gotten paid from the home business site you are recommending. Or you are 100% sure your home business site you are recommending is legit. Thanks very much.

In the stock market, what are the general dynamics when there is a company acquisition?

Let’s suppose that 2 companies are listed in the stock market, and there is an acquisition:
- What dynamic trends do we see? Does the buyer stock go up or down?
- What happens to the stock of the company that is being bought? Do the companies merge in one stock symbol?
- Any other stuff you wish to share about your acquisition experience?
